Did you know MES has a whole curriculum in place for bully prevention? We also have a specific school wide committee dedicated to bully prevention.
Pictured above is the PBIS curriculum Stop, Walk and Talk. This empowers students to stand up for themselves in an assertive and respectful way. They also spend time understanding the difference between bullying and being mean/conflict. All kinder through 5th graders recieve this instruction.
Next is the school wide quarterly activity called "The Wrinkled Heart" where students discuss the importance of thinking before speaking and using kind words.
Finally is some of the cafeteria art work from the K-5 unit on empathy and kindness. Students learn about positive friendship skills, listening to understand and inclusion.
At MES our staff truly wants to create a safe and positive learning environment for EVERYONE!

📚❤️ Spreading the love of reading! ❤️📚
Malta High School National Honor Society members headed to the elementary school to celebrate I Love to Read Month with Mrs. Ost and Mrs. Tuss’s kindergarten classes. NHS members read some of their favorite picture books from when they were little, then teamed up with the kindergarteners to make fun, creative bookmarks. Thank you, Mrs. Ost and Mrs. Tuss, for having us.
